Speaking of 13.1, it's that time again guys....

-3500 words prose
-5 pages poetry
-8 pages drama
-2000 words non-fiction
-8 pages B&W comics
-Wildcard (anything adhering to the above guidelines)

Visual art:

-Up to 5 images (painting, drawing, print, photo, collage, craft, etc.)
-submit low-res .jpegs

Submissions can be emailed to: submissions@soliloquiesanthology.com

In the body of the email submit a cover letter, full contact info & specify which genre. Attach your work as a .doc file.

Deadline: May 30, 2009

Brian Willmont, whose work appeared in issue 12.1 earlier this year, is showing in the group show Invisible Somethings, alongside Eric Shaw and Denise Kupferschmidt.

The opening is 6:30 PM, All Ages, Free, street gallery and lounge gallery Feb 6th 2009 at 92YTribeca, 200 Hudson

(1) & (ACE) are super close, (6) & (NRQ) are a short walk
Cafe has lots of good veggie options, beer and wine

Montreal Expozine 2008

Thanks to everyone who came out to show us some love at Expozine this weekend. We had an awesome time and everyone was loving it, as evidenced in the following photos:

Justin manning the Soliloquies table. When not talking shop with the throngs of Montreal zine-makers, artists, writers, independent pressmen et al., Justin relaxes by taking an enthusiastic look-see at our newest issue, 12.1

We were lucky to snag a table next to our pals at WithWords Press, a Montreal publishing house representing authors such as David Bradford, Jason Camlot, Gil Filar, Chris Masson, Marianne Perron and Hillary Rexe. Editors Sasha Manoli and Ann Ward were real nice and moved their chairs for us all the time.

And our favorite slow-walkin', dirty-talkin', heat-packin', gun-slingin' publishing house PistolPress was there to represent, showcasing their new "Kitchen Reading Series", a collaboration with Invisible Publishing that has writers read their work in... you guessed it, their kitchens. The series features readings from Stacey May Fowles, Jp King, Anna Leventhal, Jeff Miller, Hillary Rexe, Vince Tinguely, and your friend and humble narrator Deanna Fong.

Thanks to everyone who submitted to Soliloquies 12.2; we are looking forward to reading your work over a cup of 'nog this Christmas break!

Inaugural Soliloblog

Hello and welcome to Soliloquies Anthology blog. This will be an interactive forum to view and discuss writing featured in the anthology, as well as providing news updates, submission and contest information and other relevant articles.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to the launch of 12.1 last Friday, both readers and audience alike, who made the event such a success. Highlights of the evening included an impromptu reading of JpKing's "Iceberg in the Room" by Gil Filar (as filtered through a sonic worm-hole), frequent visits to Dave Cool (Montreal's coolest bartender), and the MC stylings of Keith Francis Waterfield (for the second half of the evening, when everything went all sexy and awry.)

Soliloquies 12.1 is now available for purchase through the Concordia University Department of English, and will soon be prepped for paypal purchase through our website.
